Homebuyers Assistance Program
ECICOG’s Homebuyers Assistance Program will help first time homeowners with down-payment assistance and repairs needed to bring the home up to local codes and rehabilitation standards within our six county region. Our six county region includes the counties of Benton, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn and Washington (excluding properties within the city limits of Cedar Rapids and Iowa City).
Funding for the program was received through the Iowa Finance Authority HOME Program with matching funds from three Housing Trust Funds. The HOME Program strives to provide decent and affordable housing to lower-income households, expand the capacity of non-profit housing providers, strengthen the ability of state and local governments to provide housing, and leverage private sector participation.
General guidelines for the program:

- Applicant must have an annual (gross) household income that does not exceed 80% of the current median income, based on household size (2017 Income Limits)
