New Housing Opportunities

A number of programs are available for disaster recovery through the state and federal programs as part of the recovery efforts following the 2008 floods. ECICOG's flood recovery programs serve residents and businesses in Linn County outside the corporate limits of Cedar Rapids, Johnson County outside the corporate limits of Iowa City, as well as all of Benton, Iowa, Jones and Washington Counties. Single Family New Construction Programs
ECICOG is offering the Single Family New Construction (SFNC) program to build new housing units to replace some of those that were lost during the 2008 floods. Persons affected by the 2008 flooding are encouraged to apply, however these programs are open to all residents who meet specific income guidelines and are able to meet certain program criteria such as qualifying for a mortgage from a participating lender.

At this time (February 2012), all homes in Rounds 1 and 2 have been sold, and most in Round 3 have been sold; remaining lots are listed below. If you're interested in the program but not in these homes, please book mark this page and check back occasionally or contact Robyn Jacobson for updated information on the status of future projects, as more new housing opportunities including SFNC Round 4 are coming in spring/summer 2012.

Lots currently available in Round 3 ***All lots in Johnson County and Linn County have been sold***
SFNC Round 3 provides up to 25% down payment assistance to income-qualified buyers on specific single-family homes. Currently, there remains one (1) lot in Anamosa (Jones County) as well as two (2) lots in Washington (Washington County).
