In 1989, ECICOG coordinated the preparation of the first Regional Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan, and manages the updates of this plan today. The plan was prepared and submitted to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to meet the requirements of the 1987 Groundwater Protection Act. ECICOG provides a variety of solid waste planning resources to local governments, educational centers and businesses within the planning area. |

Plan Updates are a statutory requirement pursuant to Iowa Code sections 455.304 and 455D.7, and Chapter 101 as amended. Plans are updated and reviewed on a regular basis, and copies are available for review in the ECICOG office, and can be checked-out or photocopied. |
