5210 Community Grant Promotes Healthy Choices in Jones County

ECICOG staff partnered with Jones County Public Health to land the region’s first 5210 Community Grant. The 5210 public health program promotes positive health choices by youth in the form of five vegetable or fruit servings per day, two hours or less of screen time, 1 hour of exercise, and 0 sugary drinks. The grant will provide $30,000 over three years to implement ideas to support the 5210 program in the communities of Anamosa and Olin. The 5210 program is a partnership between the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Healthiest State Initiative.
