Many cities registered with SAM.gov to receive their American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) awards. Cities should maintain their registration for the duration of the ARPA reporting period. Private firms will begin sending emails about renewing your SAM registration well in advance of the expiration date. Some of these firms charge hefty fees to assist with the renewal process. While cities certainly can pay for assistance with their SAM renewal, you should be aware that there is no cost to establish or renew your SAM.gov registration. View emails with a “.com” address carefully no matter how official they sound. Correspondence from the federal government will have a “.gov” address. If you are unsure about a message, contact a member of the ECICOG team for assistance.
