Cedar Rapids and Marion to LaunchNew Housing Rehabilitation Programs

ECICOG’s housing department is preparing to roll out two owner-occupied rehabilitation programs in the metro area of Linn County:

The City of Cedar Rapids was awarded $2.5 million in CDBG-DR funds to conduct rehabilitation for low-to-moderate income homeowners still dealing with the impact of the 2020 derecho. The City is contracting with ECICOG to provide administration and construction management for the program, and approximately 50 homeowners are expected to qualify.

The City of Marion has dedicated $530,000 of its ARPA funds to an owner-occupied rehabilitation program for homeowners with low-to-moderate income residing in Marion. The City is awarding the funds to the Housing Fund for Linn County, who will contract with ECICOG to administer the program and provide construction management. Up to $20,000 per home will be provided to qualified homeowners, with the opportunity for an additional $5,000 if it is matched by the homeowner. This program will be formally announced after August 1.
