The City of North Liberty was recently awarded a $100,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) on behalf of the North Liberty Community Pantry for the purchase of fresh food over the next year. The CDBG-CV program funds are a special CDBG appropriation from the CARES Act grant. CDBG-CV grants are required to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the ending of other pandemic-era social supports, the Pantry has seen an over 70% increase in the number of households it serves.
