Does your community have a need for more affordable housing options? Homes for Iowa is a public-private partnership with Iowa Prison Industries and COG's across Iowa to provide quality affordable homes for sale to Iowans. The homes are built at Iowa Prison Industries facilities while providing state of the art building trades training and re-entry employment assistance for incarcerated men. To date, 21 homes from this program have been ordered or delivered in the ECICOG region.
The homes come in four models and require participation by a developer to provide a qualified building site and purchase agreement. Home buyers must meet income limitations, and provide evidence for approved financing. Once approved, the home will be built to specification and delivered to the building site for final installation.
