Housing Trust Funds in ECICOG Region Awarded Affordable Housing Grants

ECICOG is pleased to announce three grants submitted to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB) Competitive Affordable Housing Program (AHP) on behalf of the region’s housing trust funds were awarded a total $541,236. FHLB received 137 applications and awarded over $46 million to 60 organizations, and only eight Iowa projects were awarded. The Housing Trust Funds contract with ECICOG to administer the grant funds and provide construction management. The grant funds will be utilized to assist with owner-occupied housing rehabilitation for 12 households in each housing trust fund area.

In addition, the Iowa Finance Authority announced the 2024 Local Housing Trust Fund awards, and ECICOG submitted applications for two of the three awards made in the ECICOG region. The East Central Iowa Housing Trust Fund was awarded $403,034, and the Housing Fund for Linn County was awarded $580,473. ECICOG provides the leadership for the two trust funds and administers the grants.
