Iowa Energy Office Seeks Input on New Grant Program for Energy Efficiency Projects

The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) is conducting a survey that will aid in the development of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. The Iowa Energy Office, a department of IEDA, will disburse $1.2 million of federally allocated funding that must flow directly to local governments that were not eligible to receive the formula allocation. This program is intended to help with energy efficiency and conservation efforts in local communities through the 6 major categories outlined by the Department of Energy for EECBG: energy planning, energy efficiency, renewables, transportation, financing, and workforce development.

Linn County, Johnson County, and the cities of Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and Marion will receive a direct allocation and therefore do not need to complete the survey.
