Tracey Achenbach Receives Prometheus Award

ECICOG Housing Director Tracey Achenbach was honored with the 2025 Prometheus Award from the Iowa Association of Council of Governments (ICOG) for her transformative leadership in housing initiatives and exceptional work in housing recovery following the 2020 derecho. Tracey was part of a team of regional stakeholders who created the Providing Assistance to Community Homeowners (PATCH) program, securing $3.4 million in funding and assisting 292 households with housing rehabilitation following the disaster. The PATCH program has earned multiple awards. Under Tracey’s leadership, the ECICOG’s housing team also secured $16 million of CDBG-Disaster Relief grant funding to create 34 owner-occupied single-family houses and 105 new rental units in the region.
