People in Johnson County have a new transportation option during evenings and weekends to access employment and education. Trip Connect started in December to focus on people needing a ride when other public transit services are unavailable, and the cost for a ride is only $2. Details on when the service is available and how to book a ride can be found at this website.

Trip Connect is in a two-year pilot service to determine the long-term viability of such a new service, and was modeled after the successful Neighborhood Transportation Service in Cedar Rapids. Funding for the pilot is supported by two grants administered by ECICOG, and the service is operated by Horizons. For more information on public transit options for your community contact Transit Administrator Brock Grenis.
