Housing Fund for Linn County

The Housing Fund for Linn County (HFfLC) is a community-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving quality of life by offering innovative and flexible funding in order to expand affordable housing opportunities within Linn County.

The HFfLC was certified as a Local Housing Trust by the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) on November 7, 2007, and received a determination of tax-exempt 501(c) (3) status from the Internal Revenue Service on April 10, 2008.

The Board of Directors of the HFfLC is comprised of thirteen (13) members who provide a diversity of representation, with gender balance and geographical distribution, to embrace a broad range of affordable housing interests.

2011 HFfLC RFP

The HFfLC is accepting applications from qualified housing providers needing financial assistance to implement affordable housing projects that will address the mission of the HFfLC. Nonprofit, for-profit and governmental entities are eligible to apply for funding assistance from the fund of the HFfLC for affordable housing projects located within Linn County. Individual citizens are not eligible to apply for assistance from this fund.

Submission deadline (for HFfLC receipt) is no later than 12:00pm (noon) on Thursday, September 15th, 2011.

Meetings of the HFfLC Board of Directors are open to the public. Meetings are typically held the last Thursday of each month, though the Board does not meet every month. Please contact Melanie Riley, Housing Planner, at (319) 365-9941 ext. 138. to confirm the date and time of an upcoming meeting.
