Regional Transportation Funding Cycle is Now Open



ECICOG is announcing the opportunity for local governments to apply for regional Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) and Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) funds. The STBG program is intended to aid jurisdictions with funding for any road or bridge projects on the federal-aid system. During this application cycle, the four-year targets for each county range from approximately $140,000 to $2.4 million.


The TAP program is intended for construction, planning and/or design of non-road and off-road trail facilities for pedestrians, bicyclist and other non-motorized forms of transportation. Other eligible uses include construction or non-construction projects under the Safe Routes to Schools program, and turnouts, overlooks and viewing areas associated with designated Scenic Byways. During this application cycle, approximately $575,000 is available for TAP projects. Potential applicants should note that participation in a pre-application workshop in require.
